Environmental Site Work Adjacent to Mechanical Engineering Center — Environmental Health and Safety
On Tuesday, May 26, environmental remediation consultants will be conducting work related to an environmental monitoring well adjacent to the Mechanical Engineering & Industrial Engineering Center (ME). The project will begin with material delivery on Tuesday, May 26 and then proceed until Friday, May 29. Building access for ME and the Central Avenue Building (CAB) will not be affected. The vendors will set up their equipment (pump trucks, air compressors, and associated items) on the asphalt surface between ME and CAB. Please see the linked project diagram. Due to the reduced faculty, student, and staff activity on campus this project will have little impact campus operations. EHS will be monitoring the vendor's activities throughout the duration of the work.

Free College Persistence Mentoring Available — Strive for College
NJIT students are invited to participate in a free pilot program over the next year aimed at helping them complete their courses, earn a degree and prepare for living-wage careers after college. Strive On enables students to select a volunteer mentor, from companies that include American Express, Deloitte and EY, and work one-on-one with him/her to choose courses, fill out the FAFSA, pursue scholarships, identify career options based on skills and strengths, and more. Additionally, the program provides students with access to apply for paid internships and job opportunities with Strive for College’s corporate partners. Interested students can sign up for Strive On at ustrive.com/students/njit. Please direct any questions to support@striveforcollege.org or to Julie Jacobs, NJIT Strategic Communications, julie.w.jacobs@njit.edu.
