32nd Annual Scholarship Brunch — Office of Development and Alumni Relations
At 11:30 a.m. on April 30, NJIT will celebrate educational opportunity and student success at its traditional scholarship brunch. The yearly event highlights how scholarships enable students to thrive, particularly those with limited financial means. Through the stories shared during the event, donors learn how they’ve helped students realize their educational and career goals. Watch for a link on the njit.edu homepage to see the event on Friday.
Leir Research Institute (LRI) Weekly Seminar Series — Martin Tuchman School of Management
From 1–2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, the LRI hosts a discussion of multifactor perspective on volatility-managed portfolios with speaker NJIT Professor Alberto Martin Utrera. The discussion will show that these portfolios, whose weights on each factor vary with market volatility, outperform both unconditional multi-factor portfolios and volatility-managed individual-factor portfolios—with notably high performance during financial turmoil. The success and its findings raises questions about fundamental financial relations between risk and return. To join, go to https://njit.webex.com/meet/rroy. Upcoming seminars can be found at https://centers.njit.edu/leir/spring21-seminars/.
