New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) are hosting a local 2017 InnovateHER feeder competition. InnovateHER is a cross-cutting prize competition to unearth innovative products and services that help impact and empower the lives of women and families. Through the competition, the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) is seeking to amplify products or services that fill a need in the marketplace and have the potential for commercialization.
This unique and engaging business challenge provides a platform to introduce specialized products or services to the marketplace with the potential to expand and grow one’s business. Contestants who are developing a product or service that meet the following three challenge criteria are invited to apply:
• Measurable impact on the lives of women and families (30 percent)
• Potential for commercialization (40 percent)
• Fills a need in the marketplace (30 percent)
Winning entries will compete for $70,000 in prizes with the first place national prize of $40,000, second place of $20,000 and third place prize of $10,000.
