NJIT 2023 Commencement: Four Ceremonies Across Two Days
New Jersey Institute of Technology will award more than 3,500 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at its 107th commencement across two days of celebration. Undergraduate Ceremony
WHEN: Friday, May 19 at 9 a.m. (Doors open at 7:30 a.m.)
WHERE: Prudential Center, 25 Lafayette St., Newark
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Kim Hanemann, president and chief operating officer of PSE&G. Before ascending to COO in January 2020, she held numerous leadership positions in both electric and gas field operations and utility support operations. Hanemann holds an MBA from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University.

Graduate Ceremonies
Master’s candidates at the Newark College of Engineering and Martin Tuchman School of Management
WHEN: Tuesday, May 16 at 10 a.m.
WHERE: Wellness and Events Center at NJIT
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Mansoor Ahsan, CEO of Bridgefarmer & Associates. Ahsan has decades of award-winning structural design and construction experience in the transportation industry and is a leading voice for the alternate delivery of such projects. He has held executive roles at Engineering News-Record Top 100 Engineering Firms, including chief structural engineer, director of transportation services and principal engineer. Ahsan has a master’s degree in structural engineering from Bradley University.
Master’s candidates at the Ying Wu College of Computing, Hillier College of Architecture and Design and College of Science and Liberal Arts

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Asha Saxena, founder and CEO of Women Leaders in Data and AI. She’s also an adjunct professor at Columbia University, where she teaches graduate-level courses. Saxena holds a master’s in data science and machine learning from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s in computer science from Bangalore University.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Vincent DeCaprio ’72, ’20 HON, independent consultant in the management of life sciences businesses. He’s a former president and CEO of Vyteris, a drug delivery technology company, and trustee emeritus of NJIT’s Board of Trustees. DeCaprio holds a Ph.D. in bioengineering from New York University and both a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and an honorary degree from NJIT.
