NJIT Ph.D. physics student John Stefan has new findings about earthquake-like events on the Sun that have recently shaken up the world of space science during one of the biggest international conferences for high-performance computing of the year — the SC22 Supercomputing Conference.

NJIT Men's Lacrosse decided to get in on the March Madness. Keegan Ford's buzzer beating transition goal capped off a furious fourth-quarter rally and gave the Highlanders an epic 14-13 victory over the Lindenwood Lions Saturday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

Twenty-five high school girls brought their sleeping bags to NJIT’s campus to experience a visit much more involved than a standard campus tour. The students, all who have been accepted to NJIT, were invited through You @NJIT. The overnight campus experience is jointly run by NJIT’s Office of Admissions and the Murray Center for Women in Technology, a university-wide network that connects women students and faculty to each other and to the resources they need to succeed. The program pairs each highschooler with a current female NJIT student.

The risks of negative side effects from online privacy laws are being studied by researchers in NJIT's Martin Tuchman School of Management and Ying Wu College of Computing, in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon and Cornell universities, based on $1.2 million in National Science Foundation grants. They want to examine assertions from news and media companies that privacy regulations are hurting ordinary users, because the regulations hamper publishers' financial viability, resulting in lower quality content or even the prospect of none at all.

The NJIT track and field teams wrapped up their indoor season and the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships with a title and several noteworthy efforts on the meet's third and final day of competition. EVENT CHAMPIONS

Led by a four-point performance from Jack Bowie and standout efforts by the defensive and faceoff units, the NJIT men's lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season and first of the Eric Wolf era in a 10-8 victory over the Wagner Seahawks Saturday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

Dora Gomez ’18 walked the cozy, private dining room of Seasons 52 in Paramus, New Jersey greeting fellow NJIT alumni and swapping stories like she has done it dozens of times before. In truth, this was her first time helping to organize an NJIT alumni event as the new volunteer organizer for the northern New Jersey chapter.

Among 13 children in a struggling Ivory Coast family, it would have been understandable if Vincent Oria went into business, apprenticed to a tradesman, or dreamed of the soccer pitch. Instead, long before becoming chairman of NJIT's Department of Computer Science, he followed his schoolteacher father into the world of academics, concentrating on physics as he loved the applied mathematics of science.
