New Jersey Institute of Technology’s annual Celebration fundraiser will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025 at The Grove in Cedar Grove, NJ, and will recognize four outstanding honorees. A festive evening of dinner, dancing and awards that draws hundreds of alumni, business leaders and friends in support of student scholarships, Celebration was established in 1995 as a black-tie gala to benefit the Albert Dorman Honors College. Celebration has since expanded to support all six of NJIT’s colleges.

Rajesh Davé, a problem-focused inventor whose groundbreaking methods for re-engineering tiny particles have applications in such diverse areas as rocket fuels and explosives, high-value-added chemicals and pharmaceuticals, has been tapped for the Elsevier Particle Technology Forum Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

Melissa De Cunto and Nalan Kus, both seniors in NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management, are recipients of this year's New Jersey Business & Industry Association’s Rising Star Award. “NJBIA’s Rising Star Awards honor students who have demonstrated a passion for their career path, academic success and a commitment to their communities during their undergraduate careers,” association CEO Michele Siekerka stated.

Billions upon billions of soot particles enter Earth’s atmosphere each second, totaling about 5.8 million metric tons a year — posing a climate-warming impact previously estimated at almost one-third that of carbon dioxide. Now, researchers say the climate-altering properties of these particles can change within just hours of becoming airborne, rather than days as previously assumed.

Forbes ranks New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) top 50 in the U.S. among public universities for 2026. At No. 41, NJIT jumped 47 places from last year.
