Senior Shannon Turner of women's track and field was NJIT's recipient of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) Woman of the Year award. Turner was among the guests of honor at the 27th Annual NJAIAW Woman of the Year luncheon held at Seton Hall University Sunday, Feb. 3. Following the luncheon, each winner was recognized at halftime of the Seton Hall women's basketball game against Butler.

The NJIT men's fencing team went undefeated at the Eric Sollee MIT Fencing Invitational while the NJIT women went 4-2 Sunday afternoon. The NJIT men, winners of seven straight, move to 13-5 overall on the season while the NJIT women, put together a strong performance, stand at 8-6 on the year. The NJIT men went undefeated against: Haverford (18-9), Hunter (24-3), Boston Collge (W, 18-9), MIT (15-12) and Brandies (18-9) while the women defeated Haverford (19-8), Hunter (24-2), MIT (14-13) and Brandies (15-12).

The NJIT women's tennis team passed their toughest test of 2019, holding off the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds for a 4-3 victory Sunday evening at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility. NJIT improved to 4-0 on the season, giving the Highlanders their best start to a season since 2011 and securing their best start since joining the ASUN Conference in 2015.

The NJIT Highlanders (18-5, 6-2 ASUN) defeated Florida Gulf Coast (8-15, 3-5 ASUN) at the Wellness and Events Center on Wednesday, 66-54. This month, NJIT’s forensic science program welcomed David Fisher — an expert criminalist previously with New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) — to its faculty ranks. NJIT Women's Tennis improved to 2-0 in the spring season with a 6-1 road victory over the Sacred Heart Pioneers Sunday afternoon on the campus of Yale University. The Highlanders followed up their dominant victory of Wagner College from Friday by taking all but one singles matchup against the Pioneers.

The NJIT Highlanders (17-5, 5-2 ASUN) completed a comeback win in overtime to defeat North Alabama (8-15, 5-3 ASUN) at the Wellness and Events Center on Sunday, 76-70.
