New Parking Facility Profiled by Concrete Institute
New Jersey Institute of Technology’s recently finished Science and Technology Park parking facility has been featured by the Mid-Atlantic Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) in their September 2018 Project Spotlight, sponsored by Nitterhouse Concrete Products.
The seven-story, 938-space facility overseen by the Claremont Construction Group was completed at a rapid pace to provide students and staff greater parking options as the university continues to expand. Helped in large part to the precast production, the build was completed in just one year and has had a significant positive impact on the campus community.
"The Science and Technology Park Garage provided much needed convenient and safe parking capacity for students, faculty, staff, and tenants of the Enterprise Development Centers," said Andrew Christ, vice president for real estate development and capital operations. "Partnering with Timothy Haahs and Associates and Claremont Construction on this precast concrete structure expedited construction and delivery for the NJIT community."
The parking facility includes a number of high-performance design features, including: electric vehicle charging stations, efficient lighting and controls, bicycle storage and flex space for future university use.
