Men's Lacrosse Earns USILA Academic Honor, Muscatella and Grimley Named Scholar All-Americans
After one of the most historic seasons for the NJIT men's lacrosse team, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its annual 2024 Team Academic Award and Scholar All-Americans, the organization announced.
A pair of Highlanders – Garrett Muscatella and Teddy Grimley were named USILA Division I Scholar All-Americans while the 2024 Highlanders were one of 39 Division I programs who achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Muscatella, a midfielder from Long Valley, was named to the America East All-Academic team for the second straight year after earning his first nod in 2023. He earned a 3.898 cumulative GPA and graduated in May with a Biomedical Engineering degree. Muscatella combined for a 4.0 GPA for the 2024 Spring semester.
On the field, Muscatella led the Highlanders in goals (29), assists (16) and total points (45), with his 45 points being the most by a Highlander since Aaron Forster's 53 (36 G, 17 A) in 2019. Muscatella was named America East Offensive Player of the Week twice (Mar. 4, Feb. 12) and ended the 2024 campaign on a 24-game point streak dating back to last year.
Grimley, a native of Margate City, posted a 3.641 cumulative GPA and graduated in May with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
On the field, Grimley had a career campaign, logging the most ground balls (28), caused turnovers (21) and assists (2) of his Highlander tenure while matching last year's tally in goals (2). He closed his career with a career-high four caused turnovers, three ground balls and a goal against UMass Lowell on April 27. Grimley capped off his collegiate career competing in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I/II Senior All-Star Game on May 24.
As a team, NJIT boosted a 3.457 Spring 2024 GPA behind 12 players earning a perfect 4.0 GPA and 22 players, holding a cumulative GPA over a 3.5 GPA.
