Men's Fencing Registers Second Place Finish at 2025 MACFA Championships
The NJIT men's fencing team earned a second-place finish for the third consecutive season at the 2025 MACFA Championships Sunday afternoon hosted by Drew University.
Michael Bindas, in his first season at the helm of the Highlanders, earned 2025 MACFA Coach of the Year.
The men's epee squad was crowned MACFA Conference Team Champions which consisted of Ummi Green, Niels Roubailo and Ryan Scharf. Individually, Green placed seventh.
The men's sabre squad which consisted of Christopher Cortez, Gonzalo Fernandez and Adrian Figueredo placed second overall. Individually, Figueredo placed second overall while Fernandez and Cortez finished 13th and 14th respectively.
The men's foil squad took third which consisted of Aidan Doctor, Robert Rountree and Josh Schaefer. Individually, Doctor placed fifth and Schaefer seventh.
NJIT will return to action on Saturday, March 8 at the 2025 NCAA Regionals hosted by Drew.
