The NJIT men's fencing team captured the 2019 MACFA Championship highlighted by a first-place finish by Brett Bogert in the men's epee for the second consecutive season, hosted by Drew University Sunday afternoon.
NJIT, which finished the regular season with a 21-6 overall mark, the best record in program-history, added to the teams 2019 resume, capturing the 2019 MACFA Championship title, dropping a total of just five bouts all day and, winning 121 out of a possible 126 bouts.
Bogert, a sophomore from St. Augustine, Florida, won the men's epee individual championship for the second consecutive season.
Senior Greg Puccio placed second in the men's saber individual, dropping 14-15 decision to Booth of Hunter.
Sophomore Thomas Manley earned a second-place finish in men's foil individual, falling 14-15 to Sconzo of Cornell.
