Women's Fencing Standout Up for NCAA Woman of the Year Award

Julia Garcia recorded a 12th place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships, earning All-American honors for the second time in her career at NJIT.
Julia Garcia '18, who completed her four-year college women's fencing career in May, has been named a nominee for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
Garcia graduated from NJIT with a bachelor's degree in business administration and currently works as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs. She is one of 581 nominees nationally (251 – Division I, 131 – Division II, and 199 – Division III), marking the most in the history of the Woman of the Year program.
Now in its 28th year, the Woman of the Year Award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
