Irene Cocero and Laura Wipfli Crowned Southland Conference Doubles Champions
NJIT women's tennis doubles pair Irene Cocero and Laura Wipfli were crowned Southland Conference Doubles Champions Sunday at the 2024 Southland Conference Individual Tennis Championships hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University.

"Irene and Laura played great today and we are very happy with the result of course. Laura and Irene showed great discipline to come down to New Orleans and play disciplined tennis against great competitors in very warm conditions. They worked as a team start to finish and both players served beautifully throughout the tournament. I'm very proud of all their hard work!"

About the Tournament
The tournament, also known as the Southland Fall Masters, will feature single-elimination singles and doubles tournaments involving all of the league's men's and women's tennis programs.
The individual champions will qualify for the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship Nov. 7-10. From this, four players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists). Meanwhile, three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).
