Industry Partners Recognized at NJIT Career Development Services Awards
Throughout the year, New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Career Development Services welcomed more than 500 different employers in various partnership capacities. A handful of these industry and community partners, as well as exceptional students, went above and beyond and were awarded in the office’s flagship spring ceremony.
Greg Mass, executive director of CDS, highlighting how this event is one of the best visualizations of student success, spoke to the significance of these partnerships. “Without recruitment partners participation, there is no Career Development Services — there are no career fairs, no information sessions, none of that, so we thank you for participation at NJIT.”

Jonathan Echeverria '03, Bank of America
“Our company announced a $1.25 billion commitment to driving racial equality for underrepresented communities and economic opportunity. It's organizations like NJIT and partnerships with them that we're so proud of that helped us to really get after those opportunities. Last year, I think we had three students that joined us. This year we’re proud to share that we have 27 students that are going to be joining Bank of America.”
Undergraduate Intern of the Year
Johanna Alarcon, Mechanical Engineering
“What was most rewarding about getting my internship opportunity and working for ITW was the environment I was exposed to. I've acquired experience not only on the professional side but also with being more open to socializing with other people. The job definitely helped me apply the material I have been learning while pursuing my bachelor’s degree, for example classes like stress analysis or heat transfer came in handy while performing FEA’s.”
Undergraduate Co-op of the Year
Kripa Sridhar, Law, Technology & Culture, Essex County Prosecutor's Office
“The most rewarding thing about my internship was the feeling that I was helping people. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office, specifically the Special Victims Unit, was heavily focused on victim support. A lot of the cases that were handled dealt with victims that were underage and needed the support of the state. This was so inspiring, as during my co-op I observed as prosecutors and investigators invested their time and efforts in the betterment of the young children of the United States. Being a part of that effort was the most rewarding feeling. By just being an intern, I was able to feel as though I was making a difference in the lives of several victims.”
Graduate Co-op of the Year
Anusha Syed, Computing and Business - Sirius XM
“I got the chance to have hands-on experience with Salesforce and UI Path which were two different software I have never worked on. They not only gave us a chance to obtain certifications on UI Path but also gave us their real business scenarios to automate. I got the opportunity to learn more about how music recommendations came in their Pandora application as well as how programmatic opportunities were created on Salesforce.”
