Highlander Men's Tennis Tops Army on Senior Day

The NJIT men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Wednesday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over Army at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility. Prior to the match, the Highlanders' three graduating seniors were honored: Oscar Callo von Platen, German Lopez Andujar and Pablo Perez Ramos.
"Today, we celebrated a remarkable group of student-athletes who helped shape what our program is today," said Head Coach Marco Matteucci. "They worked tirelessly day in and day out, not only putting us on the map but also leading us to national rankings and a conference championship. They will be greatly missed, but I'm excited to follow their journeys after NJIT in their respective lives. I can only hope they continue to compete and chase their goals with the same passion and determination that they showed in making history here! Roll Tech!"
The Highlanders opened the match by clinching the doubles point thanks to wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 court. Callo von Platen joined Wil Jenkins for a win on Court 2 while Soma Fukuhara paired with Lopez Andujar for a win on Court 3.
