Blake Haggerty Appointed Interim Vice President of Information Services and Technology

Blake Haggerty, a seasoned higher education technology leader with more than 20 years of experience at NJIT, has been named Interim Vice President of Information Services and Technology.
Haggerty most recently served as Associate Vice President for Digital Learning and Campus Support and as Deputy CIO, playing a pivotal role in driving NJIT’s digital transformation. He has overseen a wide range of initiatives, including the expansion of hybrid and online learning infrastructure, deployment of advanced AI tools, modernization of campus classrooms and implementation of enterprise-wide systems such as ServiceNow.
“Blake brings a deep understanding of NJIT’s mission and operations, as well as a forward-thinking approach to technology and innovation,” said NJIT President Teik C. Lim. “He will be a key partner in advancing our strategic goals and supporting the evolving digital needs of our campus community.”
Haggerty has led projects that include establishing a digital learning team, building an Extended Reality lab, enhancing IT service delivery, and launching collaborative governance processes for digital strategy and classroom technology. He also co-chaired NJIT’s Teaching, Learning, and Technology Committee and contributed to both the 2025 and 2030 Strategic Plans.
A former adjunct instructor in NJIT’s Professional Technical Communications program and a recipient of the Overseers Excellence in Service Award, Haggerty brings a student-focused, solutions-oriented perspective to his leadership.
