Basketball Coach Brian Kennedy Signs Paul McMillan IV, Highest-Rated Recruit in Program History

The NJIT men's basketball team will have a new look in 2022-23 and Head Coach Brian Kennedy has announced he program's first newcomer, Paul McMillian IV.
McMillan IV is the highest ranked recruit in program history as the standout is ranked 123rd on the Rivals Top 150 and recently took home Gatorade State Player of the Year honors in his home state of Ohio.
The point guard scored 2,658 career points in high school, topping Lebron James' high school career total and finishing sixth all-time in Ohio.
"We are excited to welcome Paul to the NJIT Basketball family," said Kennedy, who will begin his seventh season leading the Highlanders this fall. "He has a commitment to excellence on and off the court."
McMillan IV played scholastically at Woodward High School and was named Ohio's Division II Co-Player of the Year in addition to his Gatorade Player of the Year honor. Additionally, McMillian IV averaged at least 27 points per game in each of his three seasons at Woodward and he helped lead his team to a pair of CMAC-Red Divsion titles.
"Paul's work ethic and academic mindset earned him the honor of Valedictorian of his senior class," added Kennedy. "His commitment to both academics and basketball will set him up for success on the court and within our community. We know Paul will be a valued member of our University for years to come."
Kennedy will continue to introduce his newcomers as the month of June continues.
