13 Highlanders Named 2024-25 America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes

The America East Conference has announced that 13 student-athletes from NJIT have been named 2024-25 America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes for their outstanding academic achievements throughout their entire career, the league office announced Wednesday.
In addition to registering a 3.75 GPA for their college career, honored student-athletes must have received their undergraduate degree in the academic year they are honored and have attended their institution for a minimum of two years.
NJIT award winners were led by Joseph Mucci (Mathematical Sciences/Computer Science; Men's Cross Country/Track & Field) with the highest GPA in this year's senior class after posting a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.
The other award winners included: Michael Doyle (Baseball; Business; 3.89 GPA), Will Labartino (Men's Lacrosse, Financial Technology, 3.81 GPA), Anthony Dvorsky (Men's Track & Field, Computer Science, 3.9 GPA), Andre Henry (Men's Track & Field, Information Technology, 3.73 GPA), Campbell Walker (Women's Volleyball, Business, 3.75GPA), Taylor West (Women's Volleyball, Business, 3.83 GPA), Trinity Williams (Women's Basketball, Cyberpsychology, 3.78 GPA), Ciara Adams (Women's Soccer, Biology, 3.85 GPA), Caroline Caputo (Women's Soccer, Chemical Engineering, 3.82 GPA), Aleesha Deshmukh (Women's Soccer, Biology, 3.89 GPA), Nadia Zhecheva (Women's Cross Country/Track & Field), Mathematical Science, 3.87 GPA) and Maddie Stevens (Women's Cross Country/Track & Field, Biology, 3.85 GPA).
The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award program started during 2013-14 academic year. In total, 1,098 student-athletes have been honored as part of the program.
America East is proud to have one of most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country, which honors over two-thirds of its student-athletes for their success in the classroom, including its sports Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic honorees, Presidential Scholar-Athletes and its Honor Roll Elite 18 recipients.
