More than 3,300 students and alumni filled the Joel & Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center and Naimoli Tennis Center on Sept. 17 for NJIT’s Fall 2025 Career Fair, one of the largest STEM-focused career fairs in the region. Nearly 240 organizations — spanning engineering, computing, architecture, life sciences, management and public service — were on hand to recruit for internships, co-ops, and entry-level roles.
The event builds on the strong momentum captured in Career Development Services’ 2024 Outcomes Report, which highlighted that more than 90% of graduates secured full-time employment or continued education within six months of graduation, with average starting salaries approaching $75,000 — well above national benchmarks.
Alumni and Industry Partners Return in Force
Major employers such as Merck, PSEG, ADP, Fiserv, Colliers Engineering & Design, Panasonic, and NJ Transit joined dozens of smaller firms and design studios to meet with Highlander talent. More than 100 NJIT alumni returned as recruiters, a strong validation of the university’s role in workforce preparation. These new and longstanding relationships reflect the trust employers place in NJIT to deliver well-prepared graduates, and the university’s commitment to aligning talent development with industry needs.
“NJIT's career fair demonstrates the extraordinary momentum we’re seeing in student success. With more than 90% of our graduates securing full-time employment or advanced study within six months of graduation, employers recognize the strengths and in-demand skills of our students,” said Patrick Young, interim executive director of employer relations and outcomes in NJIT’s Career Development Services. “The nearly 240 leading companies and alumni recruiters that attend the fair reflect the partnerships we’ve built and the confidence industry has in our students’ readiness to contribute on day one.”
The fair also featured NJIT’s Reverse Career Fair, where 30 student organizations showcased their work to employers, creating opportunities for collaboration and deeper engagement with industry. New features also enhanced the experience, including a PopCam headshot station that equipped more than 150 students with professional photos for their LinkedIn and Handshake profiles.
