I write today to wish you a joyous and healthy Independence Day! This is a time to celebrate the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation nearly 250 years ago. This weekend, many will gather with family, friends and loved ones; take trips to the shore or parks; attend parades and backyard barbecues; or watch firework displays. Whatever your plans are, I hope you have a happy and relaxing holiday, and that you take a few moments to think of and thank those who have devoted their lives to serving and protecting the United States of America.
