College Factual, the “leading source of data analytics and insights on college outcomes,” ranks NJIT in the top 9 percent of colleges and universities reviewed nationwide for veteran friendliness. The university is ranked 127 out of 1,424 schools, moving up 456 slots over the previous year.

The 2017 ranking signifies that NJIT is dedicated to providing “quality educational outcomes to veterans, active-duty military students and their families.” Factors considered include affordability and support services and resources for veterans. College Factual also ranks NJIT No. 1 in both top computer information systems colleges and top civil engineering colleges for veterans.

“NJIT welcomes and supports student veterans, active-duty veterans and students who serve in the National Guard and Reserves in their pursuit of undergraduate and graduate degrees and careers in STEM,” said Lynn Pawlowski, assistant manager of military and veteran affairs at NJIT. “Veterans bring experience and knowledge to the classroom that helps enhance the experience of other students. In addition, veterans add to the diversity of the NJIT student body because of their own cultural backgrounds, the experiences they have had living all over the world, and their level of maturity.

“It is such an honor to have NJIT recognized for our outstanding programs and education, particularly as they serve our veteran community,” Pawlowski added. “Veterans are able to leverage their time in the military with a top-notch education here at NJIT, which enables them to successfully begin and thrive in the next stage of their lives.”
