Phillies Call Up NJIT Baseball Alumni Mark Leiter, Jr.

Mark Leiter, Jr., who completed his four-year college playing career at NJIT in May 2013, was called up to the Philadelphia Phillies from the Phillies Class AAA team the Lehigh Valley (PA) Iron Pigs Tuesday afternoon. Leiter Jr., takes the place of outfielder Howie Kendrick on the Phillies' roster. Kendrick was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with a muscle injury.

Men's Lacrosse Breaks Seven Program Records in 17-3 Win Over Hampton

NJIT men's lacrosse posted their first win in 2017 and second win in program history with their 17-3 victory over Hampton on Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders (1-12) broke seven program records, including goals in a game (17), assists in a game (14), points in a game (31) and face-offs won (19) while tying their record for ground balls in a game with 39. Aaron Forster also broke the records for points in a game with nine on his four goals and five assists, and the record for assists in a game.
