Joi Troutman, manager of University Programs West & HBCU Outreach at Google, will cover everything from what Google looks for on resumes of candidates to what to expect during the interview process. James Gallarda, a veteran of public health campaigns that have taken him from high-tech hospitals in urban centers to examining tables “under a tree” in remote villages, challenged the faculty and student researchers gathered for the 2017 NJIT President’s Forum and Faculty Research Showcase to name the greatest impediment to improving health worldwide. To their surprise, his answer was neither ingenuity, nor resources, nor political will.
NJIT Grad Student Nets Big Win With Table Tennis Team

Vivek Kanakamedala, an engineering management graduate student, remembers the excitement he felt when he came upon other NJIT students playing table tennis in the Campus Center Game Room. But he was a bit disappointed to learn the sport was merely a recreational activity at NJIT — so he did something about it.
Women's Tennis Defeats Kennesaw State, 5-2, In ASUN Action

The NJIT women's tennis team (5-7, 2-0 ASUN) earned its second ASUN Conference victory, defeating visiting Kennesaw State (5-8, 1-1 ASUN) 5-2, Saturday at The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility. "We continued our strong doubles play and once again carried our momentum into singles," head coach Ira Miller commented. "Everyone fought hard and the results proved our efforts paid off; Everyone on the team contributed to the five points we garnered to win the match."
Julia Garcia Finishes in Top 20 at NCAA Women’s Fencing Championships

NJIT fencer Julia Garcia finished 19th overall in women's epee at the NCAA Fencing Championships hosted by Notre Dame on Sunday. Junior Garcia went 9-for-23 overall with three more wins in the final two rounds.
Finance Major Selected to Receive Zonta Women in Business Scholarship

Cynthia Ahmed, a senior in NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management, was recently selected as a recipient of the Zonta Women in Business Scholarship at the regional, state and international levels. She is majoring in finance and accounting with a minor in legal studies and is simultaneously pursuing an MIBA through a study abroad program.
