MLK Day and Welcome Back to NJIT

Dear Highlanders,
I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2025, following a year that saw NJIT and its community members accomplish incredible things. Last year was extremely successful, and I am pleased to share with you just a few highlights from 2024 in the video below.
Tomorrow, we will embark upon a spring semester filled with promise and opportunity, and today we take time to celebrate and honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who devoted his life to helping others and advocating for equality. His legacy of peaceful but powerful protest and commitment to justice for all is inspiring. In recognizing Dr. King’s immense contributions, we also should re-commit ourselves to the ideals that he strived to advance.
In doing so, I encourage each of you to make the most of the opportunities you will have throughout this new semester to lift one another up, to work collaboratively, and to strive to make life better for others. On January 31, 2025, we will be conducting our annual MLK Day of Service, and your participation is welcomed. NJIT is an educational community built upon a foundation of respect and appreciation for one another. By embracing the lessons taught by Dr. King, and applying them to what we do each day, we can positively impact our community and our world.
I wish you all a successful semester and welcome you back to our vibrant campus.
Sincerely,
Teik C. Lim
NJIT President
