This week many of us will celebrate Thanksgiving. It may not be the same as it has been traditionally. Our gatherings will be smaller or won’t be able to take place, and many of us will be missing loved ones at our holiday table this year due to the ongoing pandemic. Things are not how we would like them to be right now, and the last 10 months have been difficult for us all. Despite these challenges, the Thanksgiving holiday gives us an important occasion to take stock of what and whom we are thankful for and fortunate to have in our lives. That is particularly important now, because it is far too easy to become fixated on our worries and disappointments at this time. So, I encourage each of us to reflect upon the things that bring us happiness and for which we are thankful, and to share this time with loved ones, whether virtually or responsibly in small groups. I wish you all a joyous Thanksgiving and offer you my sincere appreciation for all you have done on behalf of NJIT.
